Need a hand?
Include your browser and operating system, the exact error, and the steps that led to it. Share a small .bas example if it helps explain the issue.

How do I type a program?
Open the playground, focus the screen, and type with your physical keyboard. Enter submits a line. On a phone, use Keyboard to open the text-entry field, then send a line. The virtual NES keyboard is also available through Select.
My gamepad is not detected.
Connect it through your operating system, focus the page, and press a button. Open Controller settings to see its ID, test inputs, and remap buttons. Older retro controllers may need a different operating mode. Compatibility depends on the browser and operating system.
What does a .bas file save?
The actual numbered program source as readable text. It does not include custom sprite artwork. Native SAVE "NAME" stores source and artwork in cartridge RAM; browser session recovery keeps emulator state locally.
I see a BASIC error.
The interpreter checks source and reports its own errors. See the guide’s troubleshooting chapter for exact messages and limits. Import failures leave your previous program intact.
Where did my session go?
Recovery belongs to this browser, profile, and site address. Private browsing, clearing website data, or storage restrictions can remove it. Download .bas backups regularly. Localhost and the future live site have separate storage.
Is the iOS app or cartridge available?
8-Bit Impostor is coming soon to the Apple App Store. The physical NES BASIC cartridge is in development. No release dates or purchase links have been announced.
